Antique 32 to 58 years , what first thing to work on?

Going to get a tractor to pull antique class ,under <= 4000 . Whats the first thing to work on that a beginner should do when he pulls that tractor?
The tractor runs,and drives no obvious faults tires hold air not dry rotted. Lets say , a tractor capable of pulling moldboard plow.

fastest way for a puller to have a million bucks is to start with two million!! we need to know so many things about what you have and how far you want to go down the track.

Take what you have see if you enjoy it and then comes the part if you want to spend more money to play. Rember no mater how much you spend and how much power you have you still dont win al the time. Its a hobbie to enjoy. you dont have to spend a ton of money to run 4 and 3 mile per hour.

The first is to get a copy of the rules for the places you plan to pull. There will probably be safety related rules that you will need to meet.

Would be better to go and watch. Then buy a tractor that does well. Unless you enjoy working and building one. I enjoy building what I pull. I never quit changing it a bit.Just might build a Moline next. Or a 4000 lb. 6 cyl. JD.

modify the hitch, add wheely bars, weight brackets, tune engine, perfect the carb, ignition, clean gas tank, install ideas in your head that the further you pull the harder it gets faster and meaner,progressively,learn that you don't have the power you think you have because the sled will stop you, each track is different and learn to judge your tractors ability and response from watching others.Become one with your tractor and have passion and do homework and spend time needed to adjust and tune to the situation, hitch height is important, make it easy to adjust, use the height to help fine tune, learn, remember and use middle of the tractor weight brackets because if you do, any misjudgement will only be have wrong. LOL enjoy!!!!!!!!!

search google the tractor model and make
And add ytmag at the end, and tons of
Hits from this site will come up with tons of
Knowledge. Ive read on here for hours. But little
Things like hitch, tires, balance play a huge huge
Factor. Its all a blast.
