Saturday eve July 3rd was the first pull of the year for the Spring River Pullers in southwest Missouri...Lots of mud was scraped off the track on Friday and it dried out pretty good by Sat evening...The crowd kept coming and coming and by 8 PM there had to be 1500-1800 people there..This pull is down in a valley just southeast of town with some great hillside seating...

I brought my 6000 Ford to Cassville and pulled the 5000 lb 10 MPH class ...Even though it doesnt fit the class well I still got 3rd place with a pull of 359 ft...I had the front a few feet from the grass..Since theres a 3000 rpm limit I could only run 7 MPH...A friends 6000 Ford diesel that can run over 9 MPH at less than 3000 rpms won the class with a pull of 375 ft putting it in the grass..

I should have taken some pit shots as you didnt get to see some of the other good pullers that were there..There was a White there weighing 8000 lbs...It has a single charger 5.9 Cummins that had to be making well over 1000 horses and it easily took care of the combo class that a 466 powered John Deere dominates...The only Mod there was one with a blown 540 Chevy..
