Wichita, Ks. pull

Here is a flyer for a pull at the Wichita Union Station. Had a really good time at the 1st one they had last year.

MY tractor won't fit in any of those classes so will not make it. They need some 6-8-12 mph classes to let a lot more of them in.

These guys kind of thru this pull together last year to replace the pull at the Kansas State Fair which they saw fit to permanently cancel. That pull had been put on before there was tractors. They had a really good turn out last year, so as they get their feet on the ground, I am sure they will add classes.

They had the go fast classes last year at Wichita and not very many pullers hooked them..Since then Kelly Starbuck from Kansas has sold his Crazy Man sled which could handle them..It went to western Oklahoma...Kansas has a shortage of antique pulling sleds...Here I am at Wichita in 2020 pulling a 4 mph class.

The most popular classes in my area and out towards Wichita are the non cut tires...There just aren't lots of top cuts..They are either full cut or non cut..Lots of pullers only pull a few times a year..I have 7 pullers and not a single one has top cuts.

Locally we don't have topcoat classes either but usually have some faster classes to fit everyone in.

I think that they sure wanted the go fast classes for 2021 but no sled was available to handle them...

I was told that the new NATPA rules from a few years back state that all tractors have to have wheelie bars and kill switches. I was at a pull near here yesterday that had 82 hooks. There were only maybe 10 if even that with wheelie bars. There used to be a pull up north of Topeka, Ks. that ran NATPA rules that stated farm stock tractors must have wheelie bars. Our club sled just runs a drop chain.
