Heres a few pictures from the Nevada,MO pull held on Sunday afternoon..There was a 90% chance for rain at pull time so several pullers stayed at home..Some how the rain held off long enough to get all the tractors done....The track had been watered a little too much but we found places to pull and it had a bite....The tractors had 69 hooks and the garden tractors had 119 hooks...I had to make 3 trips hauling tractors home and literally drowned on the last 2 loads while loading and unloading...

J P Dunn from Tebbets,MO on his high rpm 6000 Ford with a 300 six banger backed up by a 2 speed Powerglide..JP took it to the end twice to win the 5000 Open and 5500 Open classes..After the pull was over we got in a barn at the fairgrounds to get out of the rain and jacked up the tractor...The rear wheels went back to Tebbets and the rest of the tractor is now at my place...I've always wanted a high rpm naturally aspirated tractor and this was one that I could afford...This is the old Buckeye Reaper formerly from Ohio...The Robinsons in North MO had it for awhile and it had sit for 5 years before JP got it and put it back on the track....Its something different and should be a fun tractor.

The 5000 Open class had 5 entries and 2 of them were 6000 Fords...Heres 81 year old Tom Holcomb taking his 6000 Ford down the track...This tractor has won several titles in the 5000 lb 10 MPH class with the Spring River Pullers....Tom also had his 8000 Ford in the 6000 Open class.

Rick Rice taking his strong 363 Continental powered 101 Massey down the track in the 4500 Open...He also hooks the 5000 Open...Rick was on the wheelie bars more than once..

Desiree Dunn from Tebbets,MO taking her 70 JD diesel down the track in the 5500 5 MPH class....She also hooked at 6000 lbs.

Heres what my 6000 Ford looked like when Ed Gortner had it.

The 6000 at my place yesterday...Will it turn those 12x38 Wards tires? Some 18.4's will be going back on it when I get them mounted..

Track looks pretty mean for sure! I remember seeing that 6000 Ford years ago when Gortner had it but I could never remember the name of it (now I know!). Thinking that was back in the 1990s maybe? Its been a while but I remember it was a very strong runner when he ran it here. Thanks a bunch for the pictures. Really brings back some memories!

Thanks for the pics 1206--Have fun with the Ford--We will be watching for the results---Tee

Gary, the only Bogle I knew of in SE Kansas was George Bogle from the Pittsburg-Girard area...Back in the 1970's he pulled a 5000 lb SS 88 Oliver with an automatic tranny..Later he built a 4010 and a 4430 JD...Today he's in his 80's and has a 3.0 Dodge diesel pulling truck that he's trying to get dialed in..

In the 1970's and maybe in to the 1980's the sled that used to be in SE Kansas was the one owned by what I remember was the Cherokee Young Farmers sled...George may have been part of that group....Below is a picture of my late brother (passed Aug 12th this year at age 64) pulling my 856 IH at Columbus,KS in 1974..He won the 12,000 lb class that afternoon....He's pulling the sled that I mentioned above..

Tee,for several years I had wanted a high RPM naturally aspirated puller and this was the only affordable one that I have ever found..Its well built with a steel crank, steel rods,etc..Win or lose it will be fun if it stays together....Theres not many Fords pulling in this area so it will be different, especially since its running a Powerglide..I hope that I dont back over the guys hooking and unhooking the sled..Maybe I should shut it off while they are doing that..

Ray has a set of 18.4x38 Firestones for sale that I'd like to have..I may PM him..

It looks like Ed built another one after the Buckeye Reaper..This one is blue and has a cage...It also looks like it had a clutch rather than an automatic..
6000 Ford

You are correct, the second one was a little more 'conventional' than the Buckeye Reaper. It runs in the Central Ohio Tractor Pullers NA class with a big updraft carb on alcohol. He was points champ in 2014 and has pulled this version at Gordyville once or twice. Both of them are very unique tractors for sure and both run very well.

Nice picture...Thanks..Mine also has a huge updraft carb from a large Hall Scott engine..It runs on 118 or Q16...

Good for you 1206--I hope you bend the throttle so hard that you break it of!!! 7000 RPM---Tee
