For the 2nd MSTPA pull in a row I'm the very first tractor down the track and I pull 277.05 in the 10500 HS class....This is in my home town of Nevada,MO..We had 1.25" of rain the two days before the pull and the track had a bite..Only one class had trouble with it as the sled was set a little heavy.

In the early afternoon I had pulled my 101 Massey at Jasper,MO getting a 1st and 2nd place...I rushed 35 miles home to unload the 101...I quickly loaded the 1466 IH and somehow ended up with both keys locked in the truck...I quickly got a locksmith from 10 miles away and he saved the day only charging $45...Then while weighing in,a bolt comes out of the 1466 IH's steering...We quickly find the bolt and borrow a nut from a fellow puller..Again the day is saved.

12 year old Emma Potter follows me and pulls 277.07 which is 1st place beating me by .02 ft....You cant get much closer than that..

Shane Dahmers 401 powered Ford 9600 was not that far behind us.

We had a great pull at Nevada with 91 hooks..We had quite a few Outlaw and PPL pullers there....There were (30) Pro Stock trucks..The 9,500 LPS 4.1 class had (8) strong tractors with Bo Eilenstines "Coming Undone" 1466 IH from Lebanon,MO winning at 350.05...There were (7) Outlaw 10,000 Pro's there with Doug Sobotka from Diaginol,Iowa winning on his strong 4020 JD at 363.10....They let them run and the crowd loved it..These (15) tractors alone were worth the $15 gate charge..Several hit 32 MPH coming down the track...

Sunday afternoon we are at Butler,MO for a make up MSTPA pull....Again I'm the very first tractor down the track for the 3rd time in a row and pull 297.09...

Emma follows me at 298.01 to pick up the win by just .92 ft..She's fastly turning in to a great driver in the 12.5 mph class...I'm very happy for her and we will meet again this Sat evening for a MSTPA pull at Holden,MO..I just hope to be within a foot from her..Maybe I won't draw # 1 hook again..

Once again Shane is just a few feet back with his 9600 Ford.

Long time friend and neighbor Gary Collins 8 miles down the blacktop from me made an appearance at the Nevada,MO MSTPA pull with the world famous "Bud Boss" pulling truck..Its for sale so he didnt hook it but presented the flag at the start of the pull...This truck has pulled in 48 states plus in Canada, and I think Europe...

This picture was taken at dusk at Butler,MO Sunday evening looking to the SW...This was during the Open class which was about all smokers..At one time you could see a seperate set of smoke from 4 different smokers drifting away....Butler had 74 hooks but not a great crowd as it was a make up pull.

If you want to see lots more pictures and videos from these two pulls go to the Missouri Truck and Tractor Pulling Fan Page on Facebook which is run by John Hollomon from Smithton,MO..

Thanks 1206--sounds like you are staying busy! Little Emma really put the hurt on you--don't have my glasses on but I think Her Deere put 200 ft. on ya-Right??? Good times--I have been watching the Outlaw pullers and have not seen Doug Sabotka's name this year--Maybe I told you he is my nieces husband--nice guy. Not many pulls up in our part of the country--Next week---Tee

Emma put .02 ft on me at the first pull and .92 ft at the next one so a total of less than 1 ft total difference at both pulls...We are sure evenly matched.....Maybe she will feel sorry for me at the next pull and will let me win....(grin) Seeing the smile on her face makes getting 2nd place feel pretty good..I sure dont want to be known for beating up on kids...(grin) I'm going to have to ask her Saturday what she's doing with all her winnings...I think her Dad (hasn't pulled in awhile) still has one of his two 9500 Pro Field tractors in the shed so when Emma turns 16 she will be plenty ready to drive it..See picture below of one of them at Lockwood,MO about 8-9 years ago..

I dont think that Doug Sobotka had even hooked once this year until the pull at Nevada..He sure has a tough tractor..I didnt know that he was your distant relation..

Emma is the one at the top with the biggest gun which she has brought with her to the last two pulls..This little lady has pulled as many as 3 garden tractors for years and has had more trips down the track than many veteran pullers...One of her pullers is a Massey Ferguson diesel..Here she is some years ago with her JD at Carthage...The real young ones are supposed to have their Dads walk down the track beside them when they pull..One time she didnt wait for Dad and took off without him and he didnt catch up....The crowd loved it..
