After antique pulling all summer I finally got to hook my 1466 IH 10,500 Hot Stock puller at Harrisonville,MO on Saturday evening...There was over 2500 people and about 80 pullers there for the 3rd MSTPA pull of the year....It was at a mud run track that hadn't had a pull in 12 years.....I still have 4 MSTPA hooks left....I'm already out of the points race as I missed the first hook of the year at Clinton because my pump wasn't ready after being at 2 different shops for 8 months.

I was the first tractor down the track to start the show off..I pulled 282 ft plus but decided I could do better....So I came back last in a class of 6 tractors and ripped off a 274-11 which was 3rd place..If I had kept the first hook I would have been 2nd place getting beat by 5 ft......

My tractor is a bear to drive as the pump wants to run at 3000 rpms all the time..You barely move the throttle and it jumps from 2000 to 3000 rpms...I need to be at 2500-2600 rpms for the first 200-225 ft so I dont go over the speed limit...To finish the season I'll back the fuel down some and may set the rpms at 2600 so I won't be over the 12.5 mph limit..I'll be searching for another pump this winter.

Below are the rest of the tractors in the class.

There were a couple of nice tractors working the tractor at Harrisonville..

This nice 1100 MF made a pass down the track to honor some of the old pullers in the Harrisonville area that pulled back in the 1960's-1970's...The MF dealer was big in to pulling and 4-5 tractors ran out of it...I knew every name on the weight rack.

I forgot to add that the 4430 JD in the pictures is pulled by a 12 year old girl from Lamar..The 12.5 mph speed limit got her..She's pulled garden tractors for 7-8 years..This tractor used too be based 1 mile south of me..

Not meaning to be smart, but if you can slow the rpm with the pump screw. What would be the difference of you stopping the throttle there. Maybe need a arm rest and tighter linkage, and or more stroke on your throttle with less on pump. But I have heard those American Bosch pumps run. Miss untill they get a load then scream. Just trying to help.

1206--Thanks for the neat pics. Looks like they had a good crowd. You will get that governor figured out and those Deeres will be behind that red one of yours! Ray the Mrs. and I went to a PPL pull at Farley, Iowa 9 days ago--GOOD show--All alcohol burners but a couple of smokers. Simon trucking and Speedway 300 put the pull on even though Roger--Simon Sez--passed away in July.. Was a very good show! POWER!! Well stay safe and see ya down the road--HAPPY PULLING---Tee

My new little John Deere buddy sitting next to me on his Grandma's lap--We played "peek" all night!!!

I'm pulling a 15.3 mph gear in a 12.5 mph class....I need to start out the run at 2500-2600 rpms and end up at 3000 rpms which is the limit..Yes,I can set the rpms down to where it will only run 12.5 mph max but that will cost me 5-10 ft on the big end....Several pullers have said that my pump looks like it was built to run wide open and nothing less....The pump shop I was last to doesn't have lots of experience on pulling pumps....He said that my pump was the most radical one that he has ever had on the test stand..Just barely touch it and it goes full throttle..He put heavier weights in it and that didnt work....It does idle better but thats it...I will sell it after this season is over and get a tamer pump thats more drivable..

Thanks for the pics..I'd heard that PPL had a good pull at Farley...I used to see the late Roger Simon pull at Macon,MO in the 1990's...That family sure has a bunch of pullers..Thats a cute grandson..I'll be attending a huge PPL pull on Sept 25-26th just one hour east at Wheatland,MO...I think my 1466 pump will be sold...My tractor came with this pump as it was a former 9500 Pro Field tractor that had no speed limit...It was ran at 3000 rpms in a 33-35 mph gear...

Not my Grandson--Total strangers--But new puller friends! Two of Roger's sons pulled--One pulled two 4 engine modifieds and the other pulled two blown pick-ups--Looks like no shortage of $$$ in Farley! Well good Luck---Tee

I know what you are going thru. My tractor has a Standyne. Took Larry at Eldorado Il. A while to get it driveable. Plus I have light springs taking slack out of linkage. We considered combine constant speed gov for 3000. And you set rpm below that.

Brian doesnt have time to pull the Prairie Prowler...He's too busy building pulling motors-tractors-running his dyno-etc..He does the engine work on my neighbors 1206
Pro Field and has it running great this year...
