Looks like a fantastic facility for a pull....Be sure and tell a Helen Hunt joke like the late great Iowa tractor pull announcer George Hendrickson used to...He was the IH dealer at Richland,Iowa...He announced the huge Bethany,MO pull back in the 1970's and also was at the MO State Fair pulls...He announced all over Iowa.

The not so good picture is Claudie Woodworth from Ursa,Illinois pulling the 12,000 Open at Bethany,MO in 1971..He has 70 weights hanging on a F-30 Farmall with a blown 427 Chevy with (2 ) 4bbl carbs and 23.1x30 tires....He got 2nd place between the Allison Teams UB MM's toasting his automatic tranny...That was one of the most awesome hooks I've ever seen in 56 years of tractor pulling...He usually only pulled the 5000 and 7000 Mod classes....The huge crowd loved it.

Memories--Heard George announce many times--Iowa state fair and more--Went to his dealership auction when he sold out--many years ago. Bought a dyno from him. Don't remember Claudie but remember the Cajun Queen out of Mexico Mo.--I think John Botkins???? ran it--awesome Deere. I am trying to remember the Helen Hunt joke--I remember the credit manager--Helen wait joke--Tee

Heres the Cajun Queen I JD 4020 at Bethany,MO in 1971....I took both of these pictures....The Sydenstricker family still has it and restored it last year, but not quite the way it was in the early 1970's.
