Distributor question. Mechanical or vacuum advance

Currently have a tractor with vacuum advance (310 Waukesha). Im curious to know if anyone has a thought or opinion on the type of advance that is preferred. The tractor only runs at stock rpm to 20 percent over. Is mechanical advance preferred, or, is vacuum advance preferred, or is there a hill of beans difference?

Should not be much difference so long
as it is operating normally and
efficiently. Proper spring tension on
mechanical and adequate vacuum on
vacuum.

YOUR 310 should have both vacuum advance and centrifugal advance. They work at different times. That is why you unhook and block the vacuum line when you time the engine. Questions send me an e-mail. J.
