Farmall 460 axles

Good morning, does anyone pull a 460 with the smaller 2 1/2 inch axles? And if so what classes? Thanks

I would like to find small set of axles. Would like to pull 4250

I have on 2 different 460?s 3750-6500 lbs . The axle isn?t the weakest link in the driveline.

I have a friend can pull 3750 with a 460 utility
And it has a RD engine. His axles are pipe.

What kind of hp are you planning on having and classes?

I was thinking of upgrading to a stock 291. 6500-8500 lb class. 3 to 6 mph. Antique or farm stock

Thanks. wasn't sure if it would hold up to the increased HP and heavier weight classes. and since its a 58 and low serial number not knowing if it had the updates done.

Check the serial number tag to see if the rearend has been updated, they were supposed to stamp a triangle after the update was done.

Yep I checked and it?s not there. Believe it or not I?ve looked at
several early model 460,s and 560,s and I?ve never seen that
stamp to show it had been updated.
