Farmall 560 Hitch

I pull my 560 in antique 3 mph 7500 & 8500 lb. class and seems to be reasonably competitive. Over the past few seasons I've been getting a bit of flack from some of the tech guys about play in my fast hitch, but nothing excessive compared to others. I decided rather than have any issues, to removed the fast hitch and installed the standard swing and u shaped drawbar. Now... by doing that it has moved the pulling eye 8 inches closer to the rear of the tractor. Do you think this will increase or decrease the tractors performance. I was always told that on long framed tractors like the 460 & 560, you are better advantage with a hitch farther away from the rear of the tractor for leverage. Thanks

Numerous variables. Height, long chain or short, hard tight track or loose, hitch length rules, etc.....depends on your situation.
Loose track: longer may be better. Tight track: having shorter drawbar will require less weight on front. Usually an experimental scenario.

depends on the track type,traction, power you have, does it raise the front, it needs to transfer some weight, have you tried the new one yet? Adjust the weight placement according to needs, at those weights you have plenty movable.The closer to the axle, the better pull down on the center of tractor to achieve maximum traction, each situation is unique,and needs specifics for your use, however the Laws of Physics applies to everyone, geometry is the same, but not a perfect science, so adjustments can be made,must be a stock class, or else an adjustable hitch works well to lower and go in and out.

Pulling a 560 myself and from experience it will decrease the chance of pulling the front wheels.

2X what mmfan55 said. You almost always want it as close in as you can but if you are in a class that is light for your tractor and you are nose heavy, or the track is soft, a longer (further back) hitch point will give you more draft from the sled.
