Pistons for lp head

I bought a new lp head for my 44 M. When I took the old head off I found fire crater pistons. Will they work with the new head or will there be other issues because of too high of compression?

flat top pistons will get you 223 static, firecraters 197 that says everything you really need to know . flattops will yield about 70 hp if tuned correctly

Biggest issue with higher compression
is need for higher octane fuel to
prevent pre detonation. After getting
the engine together, check
compression. 200# and under should run
fine on premium pump gas with maybe
some octane booster. Over 200# may
take some experimenting with blending
some higher octane fuel or running
higher octane to avoid pre detonation.

I just put an lp head on my 400 with 281cid fire craters. It has 220# cranking pressure. It also has murphys roller rockers. We are going to put it on the dyno in the spring and tune it. Running 100ll fuel in it right now.
