Massey with 427

I'm currently putting a 427 Continental in a 101 Massey...I'm using a 226 Continental
engine back plate and having to lower it 3/8th of an inch ....New holes have to be made...
That moves the input shaft up to hit the pilot bearing..It takes some measuring and
figuring..I used the 226 Continental flywheel and had to have the holes rebored to fit..
I'm having to have the input shaft shortened 7 inches to get the crank pulley to clear the
steering box..

I think a 44 Massey flywheel will fit a 427 crank but the 44 Massey flywheel wouldn't
fit in a 101 bell housing..

I started to put one in a 44 chassis some years ago, then sold the whole project to a neighbor. I used the 44 four cylinder clutch and bell housing as the four cylinder flywheel would bolt right on the B427 crank. Had a steel plate made to bolt on the block rear, and shortened the clutch shaft to move everything rearward as the B427 is at least eight inches longer than the four 260. I also have a Continental TD 427 that should go in something, just setting on the floor now taking up space..

Heres a picture of my 101 Massey 427 Cont project...A friend is working on the engine mount back plate...Hope to have it all done by late April 2020..
