I know this topic has been beat to death, but im looking for some ideas.. I realize you can go to murphys or bakers and buy the parts to build a stroked farmall, but for me that takes the fun out of it.. Im looking to build a 264 or 281 farmall with 6.25"-6.5" stroke.. I built a farmall h with a 350 block 5.25" stroke about 13 yrs ago using 706 international pistons, stock rods and its still running to this day. The inside is pretty scary looking, but that poor engine has collected as many trophies as any high dollar "bought" engine. I guess im looking for suggestions on pistons, rods, etc to go abouts building one for this m.. I enjoy the building part of the project.. Also, if anyone might have a stroked crank forsale i would be very interested also.. I know there are guys like me still out there that get satisfaction out of actually doing research and building your own engine instead of buying one.. Thanks

I don't know where there's 1 part but I absolutely commiserate with you. For me, 99% of the fun was figuring out how to take something that someone else parked for junk, do the work, and kick a$$ with my result. Many a night I drifted off "engineering" some snag in my noggin and woke up with an answer. gm

(quoted from post at 16:54:45 08/29/19) We used a IH truck piston on 6.5 crank. Easy install
thanks for the reply.. Do u remember what kind of ih engine the pistons came out of? Did u use the stock rods?

My Allis D17 build has been like that, have it apart now. Knocked .040 more off the pistons. Now I'm putting plugs in all the water ports in the head and the block. Plus Diesel pump is sent away. Quit working on it this week, taking a break, go to sleep thinking about it anyway. LOL.
