I?m currently looking at a John Deere A Puller. It has a bored powerblock with 9 inch stroke. He said you have to pull start it lot because it has a regular starter. My question is go ahead and get a gear reduction starter for it. I see a lot of guys have petcocks on there pulling tractors do I need to put them on or not. Thanks

Installing petcocks in a power block isn't really that hard. Drill up through the bottom head studs toward the back of them. Around a 5/32" hole. Then drill the appropriate size hole for 1/8" pipe thread, tap threads, and install valve of your choice
