Jd B Stroker

Hello everybody, this is my first day on the site, and posted this in the wrong forum earlier. Hoping for some info
So I recently bought a 1938 Jd b. It has a 5-1 Powerblock with 5.125 bore, but has been stroked 7.5 inches. And the head has been ground down and A valves have been put in. Has an A carb on it, a Heisler exhaust manifold, and an electric fan. I was just curious as to what you guys were thinking it had for horsepower. We've done the math and its at 309 cubic inches. Unfortunately we don't have a dyno around here to test it on. I m thinking 50ish? Or so. My brother has a 41 B with a power block. That's been bored with stock stroke. And its at 37hp. Which we could dyno at the time. Thanks guys! Love the forum!

jdbstroker I have an unstyled B with a 50 B block bored to 4.935 and stroked to 7.500. 287 CI. Stock B head and 9.5:1 compression. It makes 48 HP @ 535 rpm on the dyno. Everything being the same yours would make 51.6 HP compared to mine. Lynn

Ahh perfect, thank you! I picked it up for a fairly cheap price and it doesn't sound like I've even bought whats been done to the engine... I was able to pull it this past weekend and it lugs like nothing I've ever seen...

How does you B turn over? Thinking about putting in powerblock and worried about no petcocks. Have gear reduction starter and steel starter bracket.
