I've pulled John Deere for years mostly A's . I pull farm stock and I'd like to pull 5500 . A friend has a 88 oliver I'm gonna go look at . Anything to look for good or bad ? I have a set of 13 6 38 & 15 5 38 tires old and hard to put on it . What kind hp up grades are there to do to them . Going to look this week . I have know idea how it runs yet so I'm going blind here .

Need to know what your rules are like. Get up to respectable horse power just swapping to a stock 310 if allowed. They can be built mild to wild.

Generally 3.4 or 4 mph some good tracks a few loose or gravel . 20" hitch 10 percent over rpm . Are they good just as they are power wise or Is the different head worth the money with the rebore kit ? A 310 would be nice but . But I'm sure some of the ones around have it in them and Isn't that what the side panels are for ? I better go look at it before I start buying parts . Lol

I'd start with bigger bore 3-7/8" pistons, flat top preferably to get the compression up and increase the rpms to 2,000. Start there and see how it pulls. You'll quickly appreciate the Oliver design, driveability, 6 cyl engine and 6 spd trans.
