Gents

Existing grill screen I think is galvanized and has a hole in it. To replace it I can find exactly what I need in stainless steel but nothing else. Screen has to be painted. Will paint have trouble sticking to stainless? Is there anything I can do to make it work or do I just keep looking? Is galvanized metal just about as bad?

Stainless is more difficult to paint. It would help if you would lightly sandblast the metal to scuff it up a little first. From there epoxy primer would be good. From there you can use the paint of your choice as long as you stay in the recoat window.

The surface of bleach can be etched with household bleach, so that paint will adhere.
