Painting Cub Cadet Engine - how are the nice ones done?

I m getting ready to paint a Kohler engine on a cub cadet 1450 and want to get opinions on what the "pro restorations" have on them. I don t want the paint to burn off quickly and want it to look good considering the time I put in it. I m wanting the paint the engine black as it was from the factory (quiet line 1450 with Kohler K321 AQS engine). I m thinking semi-gloss black will look the best. Didn t know if I needed to get quality acrylic enamel with hardener from the body store or if I should use high heat header paint in spray can (high quality VHT brand product) , or if I should use rustoleum paint in HVLP spray gun with Hardener ??

I dont recommend hardener with rust oleum. Drys pretty fast

If your showing , it powder coat it .,

With hvlp guns I only used the majic from TSC they sell once with majic hardener , turned out good on a Farmall .

What I suggest

I personally don't like the Majic Paint, so that is out. Didn't know if I should be using a special paint since it is an engine and will get hot.

Yes the engine will get hot, but way, way below the temperature that will cause problems with your paint.
