I have been looking at paints and had wanted to use something compatible with ppg70075 vermillion red. That I can find. My issue is primer. I need
something that I could lay on, but sometimes I cant paint for maybe up to a month. I also hate sanding, but will do on sheet metal. Is there a primer that I
can shoot on the tranny/engine and not have to sand before I apply the paint? Or would I be better to use a single stage paint? If a single stage, what would
be compatible with the 70075?

You might use Advantage 325 primer sealer. You wouldn't necessarily have to sand it but it would be better to do so. It doesn't have a recoat window so you could prime it and wait a month to topcoat it. It's also a filler primer which would help doing the sheetmetal.

You may want to use two primers. You want good adhesion to the metal, and to get that you use an epoxy. The problem with the epoxy is the recoat window. For the paint to adhere to the primer you need to topcoat within a pretty short time. If you were to shoot a primer surfacer or primer sealer over the epoxy you can take your time and have good adhesion.
