Serial # Tag Restoration

Good afternoon,
Im looking for some advice on what to do with the original serial #tag on my JD model D tractor. The tractor is being completely repainted and the only old worn looking piece would be the Serial # tag. Is there anyone or place that restores these?

D tag
I'm Good with the idea of a new tag. What are the thoughts at a show if the tag isn't original? That's my concern, seems silly but...

After a nice restoration repo tag just looks better than a beat up original. Just save the old one so there can be no doubt about the year and sequence of your
tractor. That seems to be a big deal to some folks, especially if you have a oddball model that had very low production numbers, but with a D, unless its a Brass
Tag or a Spoker, you shouldnt have any concerns about that!

Great. Thanks for the advise!!

I restore all makes providing they aren't too far gone.
I can repair ripped out or corroded corners as well.
Some folks like to retain their original plates and some want a perfect plate.
It really is personal preference.
I'd be happy to take a look at yours and give you my opinion on restoration or replacement.
I have done this work for collectors in 27 states and in Canada.
