Clear coat

Can I use a lacquer clear coat on enamel paint this is a spray can.

Not likely. Lacquer wouldn't adhere as well even if it didn't lift the enamel. Assuming the paint is old you could put a urethane clear coat over enamel. The paint would need to be scuff sanded and cleaned first.

No! Never lacquer over enamel. The lacquer will lift the enamel and you'll have a mess to contend with.

The enamel moves and flexes and the lacquer is super hard and rigid and will crack .

et the same system as your paint[/b] or make a call, so you can be sure of the compatibility. Modern clearcoats are available as water(ammonia) and oil based products so you want to get some help from a pro if you don't know to use.
