Hello, I' ve got an agco tractor with some cracks in the rear ferder. Im not really sure what they are made of. I tried using a hot stapler, but they dont melt and also fibre glass and it
doesn't seem to stick. Has anyone had any success repairing them? Thanks

Can you take an angle grinder or disc sander and grind down to the base material at the crack. It might help determine what it's made of. It may also be coated with paint or something making repair difficult. If it's fiberglass it would be good to grind down the thickness to make room for a couple layers of fiberglass matt to be patched over the break.

Doesn't sound like plastic since you couldn't get it to melt.

I grond it down again on the underside and re glassed it. It seems to be sticking better. Im not sure if it will stand up, but will suffice for now. Thanks

you are probably dealing with smc.sheet molded compound . there are special adhesives for this. here is a link to sem with a demo video on smc repairs. regular fiberglass resin will not work on smc.
poke here

most plastic parts will have a marking on them from the die. Typical exterior molded parts are ABS. Saturn molded the whole body out of it.
