Read about people painting a tractor with rattle cans. About how many cans would it take to paint a Massey 65?

Thanks,

Ted

I used six cases holding 6 cans a case to paint my loader that was paint plus a couple cases of primer . Just the loader frame and cylinders not the tractor

I painted a little tractor with cans .I don't remember how many cans. But I do remember It was a lot of trouble. Put it on heavy to cover and got runs. Put on a thin coat and then second coat. Second coat make first coat wrinkle. tried painting in sun and paint wrinkle top surface of paint dried to fast. I put metal out in sun and warm it up then sprayed a light coat and moved to inside right away and painted second coat. It came out looking good no runs and no wrinkles. But now 4 years later paint is all faded and tractor was keep in side and out of sun. I used Majic paint

Don't waste your time and money, did my 49 ford 8n a year ago with rustoleum cans turned out good but I know it won't last and it's kept inside .

Now rebuilding my 58 ford 861D and hvlp spraying all parts using cnh paint, way more paint for the buck, more control and a paint job that will last and hold up very well.
It's also easy to learn this method of painting, I very highly recommend it!

I agree you did a great job, but with hvlp spraying so many more options are available ( clearcoat, paint hardener, and catalyst's ) hopefully the rattle can job on my 8n will last a while.
It's the same amount of preparation for both methods...

I agree that there are better ways but I dont have a decent
place to do it or a decent compressor then you need
regulators and air dryers ive done spray jobs its fun and its
nice but its a pain in the a**
