Over did the paint job

Just bought the 47 8n and finding he painted everything. Grease fittings, nuts, threads and its all acting like lock tight.
I took Either and a brass wire brush to everything.
2 gallons of thinner.
Lots of socking time.
Don't paint it assembled if you want to work on it later.
Yes its easier, but it will be a pain later.

I hate paint.. I can never get it to lay on right and keep it from running.. I may have to haul some equipment to SV for paint... Is that a 40C I see hiding in the back of the shed??
 
A 420c yes sir . The worst thing I hate about painting is the prep work I never took track of the time to prep that loader but it was a lot many days of cleaning just to get the grease off and then days on end of wire wheeling probably 200 hours work altogether with painting . Now I get to do it again because I bought another ugly orange loader I’ve got 2 gallon of John Deere green I think this time I’m going try brushing grandpa love seems to make em look nice that way I also may get a sand blaster and maybe do a little less disassembly this time
 


The paint job that you describe is by far the most common. I have responded twice to particularly bad examples of this on Craig's list and asked "how much without the paint?"
 
More than likely the "Lock tite" is just from age and rust. If it's just paint the paint will usually flake off when you unscrew a bolt. On an old tractor or car I normally paint over the grease fittings and when I'm done remove them and clean or replace them.
