I have a 47 2n that I am stripping down and am going to paint. I plan on going with the Ford Dark Grey and 8n Vermillion Red on the belly. Only place I can get those exact paint colors seem to be online. I live in Atlantic Canada and was wondering if anyone knew of any exact or close colors to those two that are carried in stores, such as Canadian Tire, Home Depot, Home Hardware, Kent.

If you want to do a nice job painting the tractor that will last, use automotive paint. There are places in nearly any town that sells automotive paint. All you would need to do is look up the color code. If you just want to use enamel Sherwin Williams can mix some for you. You would just need a small sample for them to color match. They also sell a urethane made for rough duty or implements. It's called Sher-Kem Enamel. The color red is what you will need to be more careful with. The color red is very prone to fading.

Home Depot carried a.very good Rustoleum brand Tractor and Implement paint in the Ford colors that match very well. I bought the 2 pack option for $83 and was quite sstisfied. I added a little shot of acrylic enamel to each mixed batch and both turned out great.
