I have a welded frame which has both mild steel and stainless steel members. is it feasible to powder coat only the mild steel parts?

As typical I don't really phase my question precisely for the answer that I'm looking for.
My question is about the powder coat process itself. I prefer not to coat the stainless steel members; only the ferrous parts. I'm not knowledgeable about the process but can the stainless steel be protected and not coated?
Showcrop/Stephen thanks for responding to my original post.

The metal is connected to a machine which creates static electricity. Then it is sprayed with a polyester powder that clings to the metal because of the static electricity. Then it is placed in a oven and the powder is melted to the metal. I'm not sure but I think the metal is heated to 350 degrees.
