Ever have a can of fiberglass filler around for a long time and it seems to get thicker and harder before you reach the bottom of the can. The reason for this is it's suppose to be stirred all the way to the bottom of the can nearly every time it's used but who does that. The resin comes to the surface the longer it sits you end up using up the resin and leaving the solids in the bottom of the can. It can be rejuvenated by adding fiberglass resin and stirring it in. It will become like new again.

I store mine upside down. Makes the stirring a lot easier! If I have one a long time, alternate storing bottom and top up.

Storing upside down is really a big help.I always put fudge in a paint shaker,it mixes it up nicely with no air bubbles.I do open it first and break the solids up off the bottom though. The little parts store in town used to tell his customers they were welcome to bring in their cans of filler and shake them on his shaker.Of course, they had already bought them from him anyway, and were always going to buy more.

Actually mixing in some fiberglass resin will make regular fresh bondo bond fast better also. You can prove that by putting both on a scrap piece of metal and take a wire wheel to it. Also harder to sand down. I wouldn't want it in a skim coat. Works good on thicker sand blaster metal with deeper rust pits like loader arms and such. Works where you want to slick up cast iron to look like sheet metal. It doesn't hollow out when hand sanding.

I?ve been told to store it in refrigerator to keep it fresher, used some last week that?s been there over two years and was still very smooth after I warmed it up to room temp.
