Tips for painting at home

I'm going to be painting my 8n soon and I was planning to do it in the garage. I was wondering what kind of setups some of you may have used to turn the garage into a makeshift paint booth. I am hoping I can do this without covering everything in there in plastic and making as little mess as possible.
Also, I'll be using the majic paint from tsc. What is the required time between coats when painting?

I have a 40x50 garage. I cover most of what I can't remove with plastic. I put a box fan in one window. It is waaaaaaay too far from where I am spraying for the LEL to be high enough for vapors to be ignited. After a thorough sweeping using Dustbane to keep the dust down, I vacuum, then just before spraying I wet the floor down, and then open some doors and windows to get desired flow of air.

Use the gloss hardener with the paint (the paint will last a lot longer), and use a HVLP spray gun so you don't get nearly as much overspray on things. You will loose a lot of paint to overspray with the old siphon style pray guns (overspray that will cover everything in your garage).

I used a 10x20 canopy which I wrapped with plastic and taped to the garage floor with gorilla tape. Then stuck an old furnace fan, wrapped in a filter material in one end to give it positive pressure and ran some ducting out under the garage door. Being as how it was positive pressure I didn't have to worry about sucking fumes through the electric motor.
It worked pretty well. Sprayed primer, base and clear on my son's truck cab with that arrangement and it worked out pretty good.

If the garage is attached to the house the question should be how long will it take for my wife to start yelling about paint fumes.

Almost all the paints are better than the Majic, why did you select it?

You will need supplied air if using a hardener, cheaper than trip to ER.

Thanks for all the replies. I had planned to use the majic because it's what the local TSC carries. I have no experience painting anything so this 8n restoration has been a huge learning experience. My garage is attached to the house and I didn't really think about vapors entering the house. Maybe I'll just wait for a calm day and paint it outside. Any suggestions on a reasonably priced paint that's better than the majic?

CNH has good paint, you can match it to the correct year also.

I paint outside most of the time, just easier than cleaning up all the overspray.

Watch the fumes, breathing air is best, but expensive for a one timer, wear a good respirator even if painting outside.

This was painted 4 years ago with Majic rattle can paint. It is waxed once a year and sets inside when not in use.

(quoted from post at 05:09:07 10/29/18) Just curious, what is wrong with the majic paint? Does it not last? I've seen a few people saying not to use it.

I have not used it because it got very bad reviews as soon as it came out. I recall seeing here that it fades and that it powders.

I seemed to have less dirt from painting outside than from when inside ? I even wet the floor down too.
