Finally near road worthy

Well it has been 7 years since the first pieces were painted and assembled. Now all I am holding for are the two rear tires to come from our local farm tire outlet. They are very busy serving the the local farmres, and I am not, so the tires will be ready for pick up in the next 2 weeks. That is ok with me, for after 7 years a few small paint touch ups and other adjustments need to be made plus engine run in time. I hope all loaded, the vidio and the stills.

(quoted from post at 07:48:08 05/27/18) What color is that exactly? Never seen a Farmall that wasn?t red.

grayrider, that is white. IH painted them white for three months in 1950 as a promotion. They went out to dealers as demonstrators.

This one came into Camlachie while my father was working there in late 40 s and early 50 s. It was obviously different than others that came in, sent as a demonstrator. In rebuilding it I came across a decelerator off a wrecked industrial A so I incoperated it, in doing so I had to modify the right hand control rod.

Sorry to say your wrong because the last of the Farmall B production stopped in 1947. I have one of the last 125 Farmall Bs made that had
the C block that you could put live hydraulic on it.

D beatty, sorry but I am not wrong. Try reading my post again more carefully.

YAH ! But we are talking about tractor in picture above and being white. They stopped production of Bs in 1947 and would have been red and
none of then came from factory with hydraulic system on them. The last 125 Bs came with C block that you could put pump on but didn't come
with pump on tractor from factory.

Only the last 125 B came with a C block that had a plate you could remove and put hydraulic pump on them but didn't come from factory with pump.

D beatty, I was answering Grayrider's question about the color of Farmalls. I have no desire to condemn nor to validate 1946 BN IHC's beautiful work. In answer to RandyB's question about the decelerator, I am not sure that it is the same thing, but older bulldozers often have a decelerater pedal that you step on when reversing, then release after changing directions so that it immediately throttles right back up. That would have been useful on an industrial tractor.

To be candid there were between 25 and 50 A's between 10 and 25 AV's between 15 and 25 B's and between 8 and 15 BN 's that were test models for touch control hydrolics. After testing in local areas they were sent off to other areas for further repeorts then let go of by IHC company. No one knows where they all went since there were no acurate records left.

I'm just trying to learn a little more about them. I'm not a Farmall guy but a buddy has a super A that I've done quite a lot of work on for him . Not disputing anything said in these posts. Just can't ever stop learning from people tho.

Very interesting tractor and nice work! So is it a BN? Looks like it is with the seat support next to the fender. If so, that looks to be a really rare experimental tractor.

From back ground research over the past 7 years. From several locations, museum archives, old information sources for early IHC archives to mention a few paces.

Yes I reclamed a decellarator pedle and linckage from a
wrecked IHC industrial A. After re fashoning it slightly
I created an acellerator pedal which wors in conjunction
with the throttel lever parralell to it. I can use either
one independent or in conjunction with the other.

Nice. I was wondering, did you add the fender lights, as I've never seen them on one before. If so, nice touch. I redoing a "B" myself now and I think I'll add some just for safety.

Dear Mo
Utilizede the fender lights of British made 250,275,411 both gas and diesil of the lat 50,s and early 60,s.
I didnt like the larger type generic available any where; cost about 15 each Canadian. Made my own fender mount brackets with a little help from my oxy propane torch
My email is open write me for more help.

By the way Mo I have a gage supplyer in Holland. Much better gages than many of the ones found here which are made in ??? Where ever. The holland made gages are next to hand made and ecellent.
