Getting ready to paint a 4020

I have a 1964 JD 4020 synchro shift. I was wondering if it is ok to wire brush it. We did it with the dash and it was very smooth and turned out very nice........so now we are going to do the sheet metal any tips would be helpful.

You could use red scuff pads (scotchbrite)
You could DA sand it with like 220-320
You could sand blast it
You acid dip it

It all depend on how much time and money you want to spend. Also ask yourself how nice do you want the end result to be?
