Anybody ever try the Valspar hardener with John Deere's green paint? Looking for a cheaper alternative to Napa'a hardener?
Thanks

Probley will work fine, I have used PPG, Western, painters pride and Omni hardeners with JD paint the Omni number is MH202 I think is was around $22.00 a pint

There is generic hardner called painter's pride. This hardner is an acrylic enamel hardner that will work with john deere paint. You should be able to save some money with this hardner with the same results as a name brand acrylic enamel hardner. This hardner also seems to perform better than the valspar "renew" hardner that is available at the john deere dealer

Thanks guys, the stuff that Tractor supply sells is actually 1/2 a pint and only $12.99. Its valspar and states its an acrylic enamel. Well, the Deere paint you buy from the dealer is also a valspar paint but is a synthetic enamel. I may try a bit and see what happens, I just hoped to find someone who already tried it with results/opinions.

Thanks!

I have used the Valspar hardner from tractor supply with John Deere Green from John Deere. I had no problems with it. I mixed 10 part piant, 1 part reducer, and 1 part hardner. Thats what worked for me, but there are so many other variables that can cause problems. I'd try a test piece to make sure this mix is compatible with your primer, as well as your clear coat system.
