445 long piston and rod placement

So I have a 445 long that came with a box of parts. The engine was disassembled. I have checked my manual and am having issue finding the direction the connecting rods sit on the crank. The cut is offset not straight across like automotive. Any help is appreciated

Are the pistons still on the rods? If so the piston bowl offset
will go toward the injector offset in the cylinder head.

Conventional wisdom would be that the ''long'' side of the rod would be on the R.H. side, the ''loaded side'' during the power stroke.

Are there any marks or cylinder numbers on the rods, TYPICALLY those would face the camshaft side.

Well conventional wisdom wins again. That is how it goes. The manual I have is a copy of a terrible copy but apparently the stamped #s on the rod and cap face opposite of cam which makes your theory correct. Thank you
