Tip for Fiat brakes

The left brake on my Fiat built Oliver 1365 faded away over time and quit working altogether. I had plenty of pedal, just no brake. I discovered that the weep hole in the bottom was all crusted with dried mud and manure and wasn't draining. I cleaned it off, spun the cotter pin around and it started to ooze some oil. There's a little steel plate with two bolts holding it on up higher. I took that cover off, took the air hose and blew out what looked like a quart of oil. Apparently the axle seal has a little leak. I hooked a rubber strap to the pedal and pulled it down tight then ran it that way for a few days. When it started to squeak, I took the strap off. It'll slide the wheel now.

Hope this helps anybody with a similar problem.
