This is far from a classic but Im trying to figure out if this
Belarus 425 is a good deal or not (please see URL). I grew up driving a Belarus 400 so I know they are different than other tractors out
there. The main concern is the lack of a fan belt. The seller also
has Belarus tractor experience and claimed he only drove the
tractor a little at a time in the winter as he was aware that the
engine would quickly overheat. Im also not sure how much of a
job it would be to change the universal joint. Any information or
experience with the Belarus 425 would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Should be able to match up something for the fan belt. Did it overheat because the fan belt was missing or does the engine have other issues? Timing?I think those have an air cooled engine, be sure the ducting is intact and the fins are clean. Any shop should be able to replace the u joint if its beyond your abilities. Cheap power, but awkward and not user friendly...guess you already know that.

To my knowledge there isnt an overheating issue or any other issue with the engine. What I meant was the seller knows its air cooled and that it will heat up faster than a liquid cooled engine. The seller said that whoever he bought it from started putting in an alternator and never finished so its missing the tensioner which is why there is no belt. Its been on the market for about 6 weeks now so Im guessing there is something else wrong with it or everyone around just doesnt like these tractors. Im guessing its the former.

Thanks!
