Just purchased Farmtrac 60 to mow and take care of food plots on our hunting property. When I engaged the blades with my bush hog
attached there was quite a bit of gear grinding etc at first coming from the tractor. It does engage and seems to be fine once it
meshed in gear. The PTO operates just fine with no grinding whatsover with nothing attached. Any thoughts????

Farmtrac 60 has a 2 stage clutch like a 3000 Ford, push the clutch pedal completely to the floor before engaging the pto
If it still grinds either the clutch is out of adjustment or the pto clutch disc is stuck

Thanks for your response. I'm aware of the two stage clutch and have tried pushing pedal down far as it will go. I've ordered a
service manual it but won't be here for bout week yet. Just wondering if adjusting the clutch and/or freeing up a stuck disc are
things I should be able to do without splitting the tractor to get to it?

Adjusting the clutch for free travel is fairly easy
Unsticking a stuck disc is hit or miss
The pedal should have around 1 inch of free travel before it starts pushing on the pressure plate, over 2 inches and there wont be enough pedal travel to release the pto clutch
Adjustment is made by shortening or length if the clutch rod
