Mommy, I broke my axle, and the doctors say it's hopeless!
Not THAT axle, the one on my Huber M500 Maintainer.
Fifth time in 35 years of hard work - two replacements made and two used ones. All broken. It hurts!
They say one definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results. Well, I am INSANE - I want another used axle, or second best to have one made by a quality shop who really knows what they are doing. The first axle an old machinist made for me was perfect, and lasted just as long as the used axle replacements. The second one I had made I had to rework substantially, and it broke sooner.
So PLEASE contact me if you know of any machines lying around, or people who may have spare axles. M-500, 550, 600, 650, and maybe other models all use the same shaft.
Also, if you know of anyone needing other parts, I have a spare machine, and am looking to clean up my yard. Thanks!
