Long 9500 special

Just came across a Long 9500 Special with a big loader that appears to be in pretty good shape. My Brother-in-law knows the guy and has looked it over somewhat. He said all the hydraulics appear to work fine, PTO engages easily and runs like a champ. Could use new rear tires, but not immediately. $3500 is asking price. I was thinking more around $3000. I own some older Fords, but know nothing about these and wasnt sure if it was worth getting into. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I bought one at auction about a year ago so far I like it,front and motor is very similar to a Massey Ferguson 1100 and the rear is Landini,MF owned Landini when they built the
R9500 for Long. Not a lot around but did find a guy up in PA that has 3 he uses to farm with. What area of the country are you located?

I'm in Northern Indiana. Does that seem to be a fair price for that tractor? I could use the bigger bucket for some field clearing, but want go make sure I'm not in it over my head..

If everything mechanically is sound seems like it sure ought to be worth that with the loader, they're a powerful old beast for sure I really like mine.Too bad you're not closer to me here in Virginia there is a guy selling those 18.4 X 34 tires like new gov't knock offs for $500 a set.

These 9500s where based off a Landini... I have not found one yet but I've been looking for a Long for awhile here in Michigan, yrs ago I found a 610-DT (4wd) for sale near me for cheap almost bought it but had to pass.

Fell in Love with LONGs since then.
I'd kill to come-by an Orchard since that's what we do.
