Long 2610 transmission popping out of high range

I have a 1996 Long 2610DTC FWA tractor with a FEL and all was good up until the end of last week. While pulling the disc the tractor started popping out of high range and I had to finish the field in low. Later I pulled the transmission cover off fully expecting to find some broken springs or lost detent balls causing the issue. Surprise, surprise, there is no such animal in the Long's transmission, at least not that I could locate. Does anyone have any experience with this kind of issue and what to do about it? Seems the only option right now is a bungee cord to hold the shifter into the high position.

Did you ever find anything on your
problem? I don't know anything about
the 2610 but I have an older Long
350. It started popping out of high
range under load a few years back, I
was sure I was going to have to tear
into it. I checked it out and found
my fluid level way low (rear lift
leak got worse and I neglected to
check it like I should've) I topped
the fluid off and it quit popping out
of high range! That was a few years
back and it's never done it since.
You might have bigger problems but
it'd be worth double checking the
fluid level before tearing it apart.
