A friend of mine has an Avery A that was his dads. It's complete with very good tin. It has hydraulics on it. I don't know the year and I can't find a serial number. It has hand brakes and has a set of cultivators on it. What should I offer my friend for it? I don't think it's run since the late seventies but it's been in the barn and out of the weather. Also, are parts available to restore it? I'm a Farmall guy but would love to have this tractor. Don't see many of these around here (North Mississippi) and I'd love to restore it as a parade tractor. Don't know if he'll sell it yet but he's not an outdoor guy and shows no interest of leaving the city.

I have an Avery a in my collection it's in very bad shape and will probably stay that way because parts for an Avery in central Tex are non existent. The engine I believe is a Hercules and they were very popular stationary and forklift motors. Probably alot of "universal" parts out there .

"Hercules" is written on the exhaust manifold so it must be a Hercules engine. If this fellow will sell it I may take it anyway and decide later. If parts are non-existent in Central Texas then the same would hold true here. I've never seen an Avery anywhere around here.

I always start out at $crap price, That way, if I find too many issues with the item, it cuts my losses.

Parts are available for these tractors, There is a guy in Mississippi that I have purchased stuff from over the yrs. Bill Williams 91 CR 5491 Baldwyn Miss. 38824 (662-728-3747) great to deal with he has parts for these tractors.

The difference between an Avery A and a Moline BF is about like compairing a Farmall C to a Farmall SM, not close at all. The Avery R and Moline BF are fairly close but the Avery A is a smaller tractor than the other 2.
