I need help figuring out the type and serial number on my Worthington model G5. One I'm not sure of the year other then written on tool box was "stared new June 3 1955" (it was a Maryland State Roads mowing tractor).

On the left side of engine is a plate that says:
FORD
industrial
type serial
JE5-1141 - AS1-6037-C9C0
If anybody could help out I would greatly appreciate it!

Thanks!

G5 Worthington serial numbers run from 1060 through 1332 and were made in 1955.
The engine would be basically the same as used in the Ford 600 series tractors.

The firing order should be 1,2,4,3 and number one cylinder is closest to the radiator. Depending on how it was installed, any of the distributor cap wires could be #1. Watch out you don't loose the little clip under the rotor when you pull it off.

For engine related questions you should ask on the "Ford" forum on this site as you will get a lot more responses there.
