Serial Number Question

Hello All, been browsing for a long time but I have a question that I can t find an answer to on previous threads. My grandfather and I have been sort of taking inventory of his collection. One tractor has a serial number of 15526-705 with a spec number of 17-1441. He says it s an 88 but that doesn t seem to jive with the serial numbers of 88s that I ve found online. Can anyone tell me what the serial number indicates? And are there any other ways to tell the difference between an 88 and a 77 other than decals and serial numbers? Thanks in advance!

The specification prefix of 17 denotes a Super 77. The 705 at the end denotes the transmission code and if John says it's the low speed code, then it is.

The easiest way for me to tell a Super 88 from a Super 77 (and the fleetlines) is the Super 88 had a bump out on the sides of the bottom of the grill, assuming the grills are still correct. Take a look at the photo of on this page for example: https://oliverheritage.com/oliver-history/the-fleetlines/

Thanks gentlemen I appreciate all the help. My grandfather has told me he worked for the local Oliver dealership while he was going through highschool, Born in 1933 so probably sometime in the late 40s or early 50s. He has slimmed his collection down from its peak but probably owns around 20 Oliver/Cockshutts. Here is a picture of some after a rainstorm

He is pretty hesitant to sell, but like we tell him.. My father and I are not pullers or collectors. We would rather see them in the hands of someone that will appreciate them rather than catch dust in the barn. We are about five minutes from Quebec, maybe 45 minutes from Cornwall if the boarder is good
