Super 88 Diesel Dual Oil Filters

I've noticed on the Super 88 diesels some have dual oil filters and others just a single oil filter, as shown in the picture. Was the dual filter an option?

It's early vs. later, with the single being later.

Thanks! Do you know what year they changed to the single? Is the single diesel different than the single gas setup or are they the same?

I think the changeover was 1956, knowing Oliver probably mid-year. My dual filter is a '55. The single filters for the later gas models were shorter than the diesels but otherwise the same, I believe.

Sounds right. I used to have a 1956 Super 88 Diesel with dual filters.

My 88 Fleetline Diesel had the dual filter setup, but when I installed a Char-Lynn power steering kit, I had to change to the single filter. Got the parts from the local Oliver dealer. A simple swap. That was about 1974.
