3 1/4 inch expansion / Frost plug Hydraulic pump 1550

I had a issue when I installed new bearings for the pinion gear that drives the hydraulic pump on my 1550 some rust from the inside of the expansion plug got in the new bearing and made it hard to turn by hand I caught it before I had installed the pump I had previously removed the expansion plug when I found the rust I removed the plug and seen that it had a significant of rust on the inside of the plug I have been able to find a new 3 1/4 inch plug thinking of just wire wheeling the rust off the plug is still solid enough to be reused

Probably had water in the fluid for a while. Wire wheel all the loose rust you can get off then give it a soak in EvapoRust. Or you can glass bead
it but make sure you clean ALL the dust off with a good scrub in detergent and hot water.
