Hood for American Series 80

Hi. Had a little accident and now I need to find a replacement hood for my White American series 80.

Any help or leads much appreciated. Thank you. Dan
 
You could try Maibach in Ohio but I suspect that used ones are nearly impossible to find. Is the current one so poor that a body shop can't do anything with it?
 
Morning to all. Finding a body shop around here is a bit of a struggle that even wants to look at a tractor hood. The two that would even walk out to view said the metal is way too heavy for them to work with. Said try to find a used one and as a last resort one of the shops said they would try but it would be awhile before theu could even look at it.

Knowing it was a shot in the dark I thought I would post. I ll try Malbecs today. Thanks again Dan
 

If you have a metal/welding/machine shop nearby I'd check with them. Some of those guys are wizards with sheet metal.
 
Right on about finding a body shop that wants to do anything special other than change parts. My old farm truck was hit in the back quarter panel by a deer earlier this year. Local dealership body shop would write an estimate as a favor, but told me they would not do the work. Ug,
Anyway we have an Amish community about an hour away. I took it to on of their metal shops. They said that they could make a replacement, but the metal would not be as heavy. Told them to not wreck the damaged one anymore as at least I ll have something to fix if what they end up with is not satisfactory

I ll try to send pictures once this is closestay tuned.
 
Called Malbrich and no dice. They did not have one and did a locator with no results. Guess I will have to see what the Amish come up with, or find a metals shop that can make something.
 
Try Welters. 417-498-6496. They were dealing Oliver at that time and might have one out back. I know they have some in their fleet. Lois or Glenn might have a lead.
 
Thanks, called them on Friday. Good news is they had an 80 in the salvage yard. Bad news is the hood was is no condition to be used. Thanks again.
