Hydraulic noise when dead ended

just replaced my hydraulic pump with a pump for a 1650 I changed the correct drive gear for the new pump with all correct parts and added fittings to the power beyond to be able to attach a Backhoe, with the power beyond I attached a bypass hose so when the backhoe is not attached the hydraulic fluid can return to the res, without the backhoe attached at all and the bypass hose connected to the power beyond pressure side running to the return when I use the loader and dead end it the hydraulic make a grinding noise and when u dead end the bucket it makes the same noise but the loader wants to lift up a bit I am at wits end whit my Oliver 1550 1967

(quoted from post at 13:02:09 07/06/23) Does the loader have its own valve or are you using the remotes? Are you sure the noise isn't the relief valve?
the tractor has its own valve for the loader, I am trying to hook up a backhoe attachment I was told the forward port in the picture is the pressure side and the rear is the return port I had to install a 3/8 brass pipe plug in the casing cover between the 2 ports which is why hose runs in a loop I was told I could unhook the hose attach it to the backhoe pressure in and return but the hose had to be hook back up as picture when the backhoe is not attached because of open center hydraulics

I have not checked the pressure at all New pump the loader is strong it almost sounds like the return pressure is to high or to low I am not at all sure but if I remove the hose pull the 3/8 plug and put the pipe plugs back in like it was stock there is no noise and it functions normally but then I cannot attach the backhoe unless there is another way to run the piping

Let's try something to diagnose this. Take the hose off, take the 3/8 plug back out, put the other plugs back in
and see what happens. If it's OK then, we can move on to what went wrong when you made the power beyond
modification.

k I will do that this evening and get back to you

Ok I tried that removed the 3/8 plug put the original plugs back in and there is no noise the loader works smoothly

Do you have enough flow for the backhoe if you plug it in to one of the remotes and block the lever back?

I put the power beyond back to stock and i have the same issue now I am wondering if it is the Depth stop valve I made no adjustments the depth stop or the bypass valve after installing the larger hydraulic pump & pinion gear that runs it, again I am just guessing, and to answer your question I never tried to hook the backhoe up to the loader quick connects & try running it

Tell me what you mean by this, ''when I use the loader and dead end it''. Do you mean when you let off the lever on
the loader valve? Did you change the loader valve, or just buy the loader and are using the valve that came with
it? I guess what I'm really asking is, did it work before you changed the pump? It sounds for all the world like
you have a closed center valve on the loader. It needs to be open center. Same way with the backhoe. If there's a
closed center valve on the loader, the power beyond bypass hose was a red herring.

the loader came with the tractor and it worked fine with the valve that came on the tractor the only issue was the hydraulic pump got so weak it could not lift the loader, and dead end I mean if u hold the valve open when the loader rams are fully extended I think the noise is the relief valve opening but not 100% sure, the cover/top of the hydraulic res is the correct one with the 1/2 opening for adding power beyond, one other thing I just notice is that one of the buck rams does not extend until the other is completely extended out which I am not sure if it did that b4 the new pump because the loader was never run without the bucket on it & the bucket is off right now that could just be the ram itself
