Ive been pulling my 30 for a few years and its time to
upgrade. Many people pulling cockshutt 40s swap their 230
engine for a gleaner 262, are there any swap options that
people have used on their 30? Any other suggestions? Not
looking to build a monster, just something that will be more
competitive without breaking the bank.

AC made a 175 cu in motor used in industrial applications that will go in a 30 that you can get more HP than the 153.Need a propane or gasoline, the diesel they put in the D15 doesn't have as much power but some more than the 153.What weight class are you pulling? I have a 40 with a 262 I can get in the 4000 lb class.

Weve been pulling in the 4000 and 4500 lb classes. We also have a 40 with a 262 we normally pull in the 5500 and 6000 lbs classes, we can get it down to the 5000 lb class but thats basically with no moveable weights. Im sure we could have built it lighter, but didnt use aluminum for the wheelie bars or weight brackets.

Actually my 40 has all original Cockshutt parts but with some switching from model to model. My NF 50 goes into the 4500 lb easily pretty much stock,AC head on the 273

My wife pulls a very competitive 30. We pulled yesterday. Narrow Front, Electronic Ignition, major head work, pulling carb, reground camshaft. Pulls 3500-4000-4500# classes.

(quoted from post at 18:33:24 07/01/23) Do you know what forklift this engine was in?
Buda made there own forklifts, then Allis Chalmers bought Buda. Not sure if the Allis Chalmers forklifts used the Buda engine or not but I would guess that they did.
