Oliver 660 hydraulic pump

I have an Oliver 660 that has been sitting for a couple of years. I got it going again, but the hydraulic pump isn't pumping oil. Getting at the hyrdraulic pump looks like a big job. Is there anything I can
try first to rule out having to put in a new(er) pump? thank you.

Does the PTO work?
(The shaft for the PTO also drives the Hydraulic pump.)

The hydraulic pump is actually pretty easy to get to.

First, do you have enough oil in the hydraulic unit? Does it leak out or will it hold the oil?

The website will instruct you how to remove the pump and inspect it. If you have any questions cal or email me.

Thanks for the website tip. No, it doesn't hold oil. It just flows into the transmission.

Yes, it works. The owners manual says you have to take off the shaft, but we can't get it off. We disconnected it at the engine. Is there another place to disconnect it? Thanks for your reply.

You shouldn't need to unhook from engine. That is the trans input. The pto shaft goes through it. It's been awhile but you need to remove the pto clutch cover on the back of the tractor. Infront of it I believe there are 3 bolts to remove. Kinda hard to see and get to. After that the pto clutch and shaft should pull out the back if memory serves me right.
