Hello all, I'm new to all things Oliver, but I am a seasoned machinist/millwright with Hotrods and Harleys in my stable, and now a 1958 Oliver 550 with a front loader.
I have started the restoration with the first thing opening up the hydraulic / transmission housing, finding blown seals and a twisted impeller shaft in the Vickers 5-GPM hydraulic pump. Now with all new internals for that pump I am questioning if it's the right pump to continue using for my front loader....
I know Oliver used external front mounted pumps when Loaders/Backhoes were factory installed, but I have seen many 550's with aftermarket loaders such as mine is (Agratec), and wondering if most of those are using the internal pump as mine is.
Hoping for your experience and suggestions!
Thanks in advance for your time and knowledge.
