Hydraulic fluid - 880 with JD336 baler

Im going to use an 880 I picked up recently on a John Deere 336 square baler. The baler is shared with the neighbor and has always been used on JD tractors with JD hygard
fluid. I will be draining and replacing the old hydraulic fluid in the 880 before I put it to work - Can I use JD hydraulic fluid in the 880 or would that cause an issue?
Hoping to find a way that we arent mixing different hydraulic fluids when using the baler

Thanks!

Use the JD oil to avoid problems. A lot of guys used dextron or some other oil such as AW 46 in an Oliver system which is not compatible with oils such as JD Hy Gard or IH Hy Tran or Ford M134. I assume that you want to keep things peaceful with the neighbor.

Thanks for the input - glad to hear I should be able to run JD fluid and keep the relationship good with the neighbor

No expert here but what model is the neighbor using on the baler. The Hy-Gard would be fine for the 880 but if it's a later JD with the brakes running in the fluid I'd be skeptical. I shared a haybine with a neighbor a couple of seasons. He was running an IH 424 and I was using a Ford 2000 so I bought a cylinder so there would be no crosscontamination.
