i got this tractor running. there is a vibration in the hydraul power , as you can see it vibrating, and so does the starter vibrate. i was looking if anyone ran into this problem. dont think its a good idea to use it this way.

Did you check the alignment of the chain coupler drive sprockets? 18 & 1955's have a bolt in the frame below the O/U for support. Some 17's have that as well, but have seen some without. Anyway, the bolt should have slight uplift tension to assist in keeping the O/U in alignment of the through Shafts/PTO/clutch, etc from vibrating. I've seen some with cracked bell housings as well, from not being supported. Do you have a manual on it?
You have my number, if you want to talk.

I should add that it could be the coupler chain as well. If that O/U unit is low in the rear, it causes your clutch plate to flex, run untrue and vibrate.

i was thinking about that chain. yes i did see that bolt under the unit. i will check on it in morning. i dont have the 1755 manual. and am new to these tractors. when you put your hand on the oil filter on the over under unit you can really feel it vibrating and can actually see it shaking. plus if a person slows down the rpm to under 2000 , you sure can her the hyd.pump whining. just wondered on that also. or it needs be full rpm ? i was geared up and throttled down for harrowing. didnt want to run wide open with this vibration.

If the coupler chain is loose, they will vibrate like crazy. If you have the tractor running in neutral on the main transmission, say around 2000 rpms, and the vibration decreases when you shift the O/U to low from direct or over, or increases when you shift up from under, then it's a pretty fair bet it's the chain / sprocket alignment or at least in the power drive section. If it doesn't seem to make any difference, then it could be in the hydraulic pump, as that is driven off the PTO shaft from the flywheel. With the chain off the coupler, the sprockets should be equal distant apart, top and bottom and both be at the same height. On a few I have had to shim the front of the block up then elevate the O/U to get it to run nice and true.

ok , today was fix it day. what i found was the bottom bolt broken , pretty sure the vibration broke it. i was not a fresh break. and who ever was working on this tractor should get a lesson . removed the drive chain and it was not all that bad . then started tractor and still vibrating. got to inspecting and they stuck a 3/4 inch washer under the left rear engine mount, and the front mount was not even touching. i could not get the couplers to line up good. pulled the washer out and bolted it down and then set the couplers with the bolt and it lined up good. started tractor no vibration. then put the coupler chain on after i washed it out in solvent and soaked it in gear oil and started it again and no vibration, all good. and yes them chains need to be soaked in gear oil as i got a lot of rust out and even had one stiff link. spraying them with lube does nothing, as you want the lube inside the rollers . thanks for the tips.
